Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer
Head of Distribution
Stephen has been investing in offshore markets for 25 years, making him one of Australia’s most experienced international investors.
Before founding Aoris Investment Management in 2017 Stephen was Head of International Equities at Evans & Partners. He directly managed $1bn of client assets and over six and a half years generated investment returns that were in the top decile of a broad peer group of international funds. Stephen spent a decade in London, most of which was with Goldman Sachs Asset Management where he held a senior role in a small team managing a ~$5bn concentrated global equity portfolio. Stephen was at Platinum Asset Management early 1994 to late 1997 covering US equities. He began his career at Bankers Trust Australia where he was part of the domestic equities investment team. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Business from UTS, and is a CFA charterholder.
As well as investing, Stephen loves early-morning cycling and lunch-time running around Sydney’s harbour foreshore. He is an avid reader of nonfiction, though he wishes he read books as often as he bought them. Stephen loves history and travelling, with Italy a favourite destination. He has a growing collection of fossils and antiquities. He lives with his wife Kirsty and two school-age boys, Samuel and William.
Daniel has over 7 years’ experience in financial markets and at Aoris he is responsible for Operations, including trading and service provider relationships. Prior to co-founding Aoris with Stephen, Daniel was an Associate Advisor at Evans & Partners in Sydney. Working within a team of Private Wealth Investment Advisers, he offered clients a holistic, comprehensive service without losing the personal connection. Prior to this Daniel was a Relationship Manager at UBS Wealth Management where he developed an understanding of both domestic and international markets and specialised in managing relationships and portfolios for a number of institutional, high net wealth clients and charitable organisations.
Daniel feels incredibly fortunate to work with colleagues and clients that share a common mission, culture, and philosophy. He believes simple beats complex, and that investment decisions should be based on evidence. Daniel completed his Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Western Sydney in 2010.
When outside the office, you’ll find Daniel spending time with family and friends. Daniel loves to travel, so far reaching 21 countries, his most recent trip being Iceland. Daniel enjoys working out and keeping fit through boxing and playing tennis, which he also goes to watch live wherever he can.
